Support Worker (Rough Sleepers)
Fixed Term - Part Time - 15 hours
An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced, enthusiastic and committed Support Worker to join our newly created service in Walsall, based on a Housing First Model, aimed at providing intensive housing related support to rough sleepers with complex needs.
This is a 15 hour per week position, working on a fixed term basis until the end of November 2018.
The essence of this role is to provide intensive person centred support to our clients to help them to retain their tenancy in line with the principles of a Housing First model.
Our clients have a diverse range of support needs therefore it is an essential element of this role that you have experience and relevant knowledge of the needs of homeless people with complex needs and how these needs can be met.
As a Support Worker, you will manage a small caseload of up to 6 individuals and therefore you will be expected to work flexibly to meet the needs of clients which will include some evening and weekend working.
You will provide practical help, advice and also accompany clients to meetings with landlords, benefits agencies etc. You will provide support to help clients manage their own lives and their homes.
You will be required to take responsibility for completing all essential support tasks as a Key Worker whilst maintaining Professional Boundaries and Confidentiality.
We need someone who is confident, determined, possess a `can do` approach and a willingness not to give up. You will be proficient in using Microsoft Office packages and maintaining accurate written records.
A Driving Licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role as you will be required to travel and work across all sites within the service delivery area.
